Yoga

Earth Yoga is a hot power vinyasa yoga studio.

Vinyasa literally means "the intelligent putting together of things", or "uninterrupted flow"- the coordination of breath and movement.

At Earth Yoga, our room is heated to approximately 95 degrees. Almost all classes are experienced in a heated environment.

Styles you will experience at Earth Yoga include:

Power Vinyasa Yoga -  best described as asanas linked together while synchronizing one's breath with movement. The transitions of the yoga poses are done at a steady, deliberate pace, and depending on the style of the teacher this pace can be slow or more vigorous.

A Baptiste - influenced Power Vinyasa Yoga  - a combination of deep breathing and specifically sequenced sets of flowing yoga postures developed by Baron Baptiste. This style of yoga has the ability to build strength, increase endurance, release tension, and create more flexibility in the entire body.

Ki Power Vinyasa Yoga - a challenging vinyasa-based yoga practice and Isauro’s signature class. It is fused with martial arts, meditation and thai yoga massage. Classes flow to rock-n-roll and world music.

In addition to Vinyasa flow classes, we also have Hatha Yoga and Meditation classes taught by Yogi Charu. These classes are not hot.

Hatha Yoga

Yogi Charu's traditional Hatha Yoga class includes different levels of asana (yogic postures), pranayama (breathing), and bandhas (internal flexions). One translation of the word "Hatha" is forceful, and Yogi Charu's class will build a strong practice aimed at overall mental and physical health, opening up the energy channels and calming the practitioner's often overactive mind. Without the continuous flow of Vinyasa, Hatha nevertheless offers a dynamic, sustained workout for the body.

Meditation

Yogi Charu brings a very traditional presentation of meditative practices, making ancient meditation rituals accessible to our western lifestyle. Neuroscientists have proven that meditation can decrease the negative effects of stress, depression, anxiety and fear. It can produce long-term beneficial changes in the immune system and the brain's electrical activity, and through an understanding of compassion, can affect one's sense of well-being, concentration and clarity of thought in wonderous ways.
